Our Energy Products
ClimatePower provides products in the following renewable energy product categories:
- Solar Photovoltaic systems
- Wind power systems
- Fuel cells
- Associated accessories such as invertors and grid connect control devices
All products are sourced from quality suppliers who have been pre assessed by ClimatePower to meet all Australian standards as well as ensuring quality, deliverability and cost effectiveness. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide thought leadership innovation and technical leadership. Our aim is to minimise the number of layers in the distribution channel to ensure that our cost to the end user is minimised and delivery of key components can be easily expedited.
Combined, these qualities ensure that our clients receive the best value package available in the industry today.
Solar PhotoVoltaic Systems
Solar PhotoVoltaic systems (or PV) converts the sun’s energy directly into electrical power. The initial building block for this conversion occurs in the PV module. A number of modules form a PhotoVoltaic array or panel providing up to 220W of power. This is normally supplied at a voltage of 12V or 24V. A combination of panels can be combined to provide Solar PV systems that can supply up to several megawatts of power.
Wind Turbines
ClimatePower supplies wind turbines in the range of 20kW to 500kW. These are ideal for medium sized applications providing consistent power subject to the prevailing wind. Although base wind turbine technology is well established, key innovations in the industry have improved efficiencies and the quality and density of the power generated. Variable speed, variable pitch control and more effective yaw drives are some of these innovations that have improved earlier problems associated with frequency and voltage control and flicker. Although horizontal axis wind turbines (HAWT’s) are the most common type of wind turbine used today, vertical axis wind turbines are being developed that eliminate the need for slip rings and yaw control equipment.
Fuel Cells
Fuel Cells are credited with first being invented in 1839 by William Grove. Alkali fuel cells were used to power the Apollo spacecraft in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. A fuel cell is an electrochemical device that converts the chemical energy of the reactants directly into electrical energy with high efficiency.
ClimatePower sources what are called PEM (polymer electrolyte membrane) fuel cells of around 5-10kW capacity. The reactants or fuel used is normally hydrogen or natural gas. If the hydrogen is produced by solar or wind generation then the fuel cell can be considered as entirely a source of renewable energy. The only by-products of a hydrogen fuel cell are water and heat. Electrical output is 48VDC at rated currents of up to 150Amps. The advantages of fuel cells are that they have a fast response time to ramp up to full power, they are very quiet, and are not subject to variations in the environment with sunlight levels and wind velocities.
Associated Accessories
ClimatePower can also provide all of the accessories to customise your system to your needs and requirements. All of our systems are engineered to ensure optimum efficiency across a wide range of parameters and variations and associated equipment is selected to match the system requirements. We match and supply regulators, chargers, high energy storage batteries, off grid and grid connect invertors and mounting systems. All of our products are industrial strength and tested components targeted at industrial or business applications.
